Hey there, MDX owners. Today on your 2017 Acura MDX, we're going to be taking a look at the Reese Explorer cargo carrier. You may be maybe wondering why I'm in the basket itself and that's just to demonstrate that it's 500 pound weight capacity is capable of carrying not only myself, but probably another couple hundred pounds of luggage.It's a 25 by 61 inch cargo carrier. It's going to give you plenty of room to get the gear out of your MDX and onto the cargo carrier, freeing up more room for passengers and pets. It's also going to have raised sidewalls to keep your gear contained and there's plenty of openings, which is going to give you a room to secure down your gear with straps.The mesh flooring is going to support your gear and it's going to make it easy to clean, so if you get any road debris or grime on there, it's just going to, most of it's going to fall through. You can come back with a hose and clean it off very easily.As with anything you add into your MDX's hitch, it's going to add some length to your vehicle. more

Reese 24x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2019 Acura MDX- Video
Hi there, MDX owners. Today on our 2019 Acura MDX, we're going to be taking a look at the Reese Explore Cargo Carrier. This cargo carrier has a 500 pound carrying capacity. I weigh about 200 pounds, so you can easily fit two of me in here with no problem. The inside dimensions are plenty spacious as well, with 24 inches by 60 inches on the inside and a five and a half inch raised rail around the outside. This will give you plenty of room to get the gear out of your vehicle so you can fit more passengers inside when going on vacation.Across the bottom of our cargo carrier, we have a mesh grill that's going to provide us a solid surface for all of our cargo to sit on. more

Reese 24x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Acura MDX- Video
Hey guys, it's Randy here at etrailer.com. We've got a few minutes today, and we're gonna test fit the Reece Explorer 24 x 60 Cargo Carrier on our 2016 Acura MDX.We'll start with the carrier, just to give you an idea. This is a nice heavy duty steel carrier. Rated for a 500 pound weight capacity, and it's been designed to work with 2" by 2" hitches, so your class 3 hitches, your class four and some of your class fives are gonna be in that size.This can also be used with an adaptor if you've got a truck that has a 2.5" receiver tube opening and then an adaptor that brings it down to two, it's gonna work out really well with that, too.I've got a few favorite things about this carrier that I like. The holes in the floor are really nice and large. If I'm going to use this cargo carrier, it's gonna be in some kind of outdoor activity and I like the fact that any mud, dirt or debris can fall down and through there.Another thing I like are the options here on the back. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 acura mdx- Video
Today on our 2016 Acura MDX, we're gonna be test fitting the Curt 24 by 60 cargo carrier, part number C18152. This has a 500 pound carrying capacity, has this nice mesh floor along the bottom here, and that's gonna make it easier to clean. We also have this railing all the way around the cargo carrier, which can serve as a tie down point for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. With it in this position, or the only position it can be in, I'd like to go ahead and give you a couple measurements here. Measuring from the edge of the bumper to the outer edge, we've added about 34 inches to the rear of the vehicle. Our ground clearance is going to be about 17 inches. Then our closest point to the bumper, it's going to be about eight and a quarter to this edge here and that same measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole, it's going to be about 11 inches. more

It's made from a nice tough, sturdy aluminum. Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2011 Acura MDX- Video
Today on this 2011 Acura MDX, we're going to be test fitting the 23x60 Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier, Part Number CC-100. This has a 500-pound carrying capacity, and also has this nice mesh floor here which makes it a lot easier to clean. Around the border of the cargo carrier, we have tie down points for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords, whatever you use to tie down your gear. Also at the front here we have these mounts here, if your license plate is blocked off you can remount it in this area here. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements, the first being is how much distance is added to the vehicle once the cargo carrier is installed. I'm going to go ahead and measure from the bumper since that's the furthest point out. This rail here, that's about 27 inches. For our ground clearance to the bottom of this bolt, it's about 12 inches. more

Lets Go Aero Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Acura MDX- Video
Today on our 2012 Acura MDX, we have our Gear Cage Let's Go Areo 32x48 cargo carrier. This particular model holds 300 pounds and has an anti-rattle pin and clip. It doesn't shake while you're going down the highway. As you see, this has a solid floor, to keep some of that splashing water from getting up on your luggage. It also has a raised edge. That's about 7 inches up all the way around. more

Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, we're doing a test fit of the car pad walled cargo carrier. It's 23 by 47 inches with a 450 pound weight capacity and the part number for that is M2205. So, the first thing we're going to do is take a few measurements here. Our ground clearance is going to be first. We've got about 18 inches of clearance down here. Next is over all, to the vehicle we're adding about 37 1/2 inches. Our closest point is going to be on our raised shank back here, at about 6 inches away. Now, with this car pad it's really convenient and folds down for storage. more

Today on our 2014 Acura MDX were doing a test fit of the 20 by 60 detail K2 cargo carrier. It has the capacity to hold up to 500 pounds and is designed to work with two inch hitches. The part number for that is K2HCC602. First thing were going to do here is take a few measurements, our ground clearance is going to be about twelve and a half inches, overall for the vehicle were adding about thirty five and three-quarter inches there; and out closest point is going to be about fourteen and a quarter inches away. Now in this position weve got a single passenger side exhaust that comes just about straight out at the carrier although it is pretty far away. We have about twenty five and a half inches between the two so just be aware of that if you plan on carrying any heat sensitive materials in this region. The next thing Ill check is our hatch clearance. more

Detail K2 20x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Acura RDX- Video
Today on our 2015 Acura RDX, we're going to take a look at and test fit the Detail K2 Folding Hitch Cargo Carrier, this is 20x60. Designed for use in 2 inch hitches and it's going to offer a 500 pound weight capacity. The part number on it is K2HCC602. As you can see we've loaded the carrier down here with a 100 pounds, we've got 50 pounds on each bag and it's going to give you a pretty stable ride but that wiggle and that movement is going to be pretty common for a cargo carrier that is secured to the vehicle with just a pin and clip. Now we've got anti rattle or anti wobble devices available if you decide you can go that route with it. Here at the rear, let's go over our ground clearance and see kind of what we've got, it looks like it's going to be about 10 inches there. Looks like we've added about 32 1/4 inches to the length of the Acura and in it's closest point to the rear of our vehicle, our carrier is going to be about 11 1/4 inches away. more

Today on our 2015 Acura RDX, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Curt 24x60 Folding Cargo Carrier. Now this has a 500 pound capacity. It's been designed for use in 2 inch hitches. The part number on it is C18153. As you can see we've got a 100 pounds loaded up here in the carrier and just pretty typical with a cargo carrier that is secured using the hitch pin and clip, you're going to have some movement and some shake and some wiggle side to side. That's not how we get them to keep it nice and steady. more

Curt Folding Aluminum Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Acura MDX- Video
Today on our 2012 Acura MDX well be test fitting the Curt 20 by 60 folding aluminum cargo carrier, part number C18100. To begin our test fit well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch tube, align our pin hole, slide our pin through our pin hole, and secure with the clip. Now lets go over some quick clearance measurements to see how the cargo carrier and this vehicle fit together. With the cargo carrier folded up we have about 15 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about 2 inches. With the cargo carrier folded down we have about 14 inches of ground clearance from the rear of the carrier. more
